Ndaba

That's Zulu for news.

We're moving to Washington D.C. during the 4th week of June.
It all started a month ago when Dustinn received an email that he was being considered for a unique case. The position was competitive, so they couldn't guarantee him the spot but just wanted to know if he would be interested. We weighed the pros and cons and prayed about it and then said, "yes." We didn't tell anyone about it because it was so uncertain. But just a few days ago, after several interviews with a variety of people, we found out they want Dustinn for the position. His first day will be June 30th and the case will last between 18 months and 2 years.

I'm REALLY going to miss being close enough for weekend visits from family and Julie & Janina (our LA family.) But we are excited to live close to Dustinn's parents and for this excellent career opportunity.

P.S. Mang (one of Dustinn's best friends) and his wonderful wife Megan live in Washington DC. We want to surprise them by showing up on their doorstep. Mums the word, ok?

Exciting news! D.C. is a fun city. So do you plan on moving back to CA when you are done with the case?

Elisa...that's a good question! If it lasts 2 years, Dustinn will probably go directly to Grad school afterwards. If it's a year and a half, we want to come back to LA.
Yeah, it will be fun. We are hoping to live right along a metro line so he'll have a short, quick commute and Bradshaw and I can visit all the amazing free museums there.

Congrats on the new position! Wow, you guys have really traveled the US between your internships, jobs, and transfers. I am impressed. I hope that all of your time and energy will be compensated and that you have a good career with your company. Definitely pass along a good hello to Mang and Megan.

Congrats again and good luck with the move and transfer. Very cool. We always have a bed waiting in case you want to visit Oregon.
