Dustinn, Bradshaw & I were walking out to the car Wednesday night and saw a car with it's trunk wide open--and then we realized it was ours.
The locking mechanism on our trunk is very cantankerous. We quickly squabbled over who had used the car last and realized our trunk (containing a stroller, travel crib, & many Costco boxes of candy) had been open for almost 24 hours! And everything was still there.

Wow- I bet you were so relieved! By the way, nice use of the word "cantankerous". I had to look it up to learn what it meant!
it either means that you live in a safe neighborhood, or you have nothing worth stealing.
When Shawn came to Canada to visit us last summer he left the door to our house open. Not unlocked. OPEN. And nothing was stolen. I think we belong in the second of the two categories.
people wandering by probably thought you were part of an undercover theft sting -- there was a camera attached somewhere!
