at the Air and Water Show!
This is Chicago. We could wade into the water and watch the planes, parachuters, etc. from there. |
these blue angels would fly so low right over the water and then right over a building. They broke the sound barrier which is very disorienting to watch/listen to. |
Afterward we went to Millenium Park, which seems to be the Central Park or National Mall of Chicago.
the park has this splash area which includes this tower: a face appears, you watch it blink and stretch and then in spits on you. Totally hilarious and creative. |

the blue angels were so amazing. I'd always wanted to see an air show like that.
You and Olivia look so happy in the glass ball. I miss y'all, lotsandlotsandlots. How did Bradshaw react to all of this?
You made it to your new home! You guys are brave to travel across country!
I'm curious too as to how Bradshaw will settle into the new home after a summer of travel.
Chicago looks great in these pictures, and that tower with the face is hilarious.
@Lindy
At the Air and Water Show, Bradshaw was more interested in the ambulances and fire trucks than anything in the sky. We made a point of getting there (our first time on Chicago's metra & buses) because we thought he'd love it. Oh well. He had fun playing in the water and splashing other kids.
@Dani
Actually, we just got into our apartment yesterday. The student housing is furnished--which means there is a twin bed for Bradshaw. Big boy bed! Last night he was so excited he kept asking if it was bedtime yet. And he slept through the night and didn't get out of bed once!
So far so good but we'll see how it goes.
Back to unpacking....
How fun!!! It looks like you guys are already having a blast in CHICAGO!!!! (Crazy! You guys are in Chicago! I can't believe that you're not still around the corner.) Your apartment looks fabulous...like it has lots of windows and natural light. I LOVE that!!!
And I can't believe how big Olivia is getting!
LOVED catching up on what you've been up to. You're missed. :)
